MMSB is partnering with Waste Reduction Week in Canada (WRW) to encourage Canadians to reduce the amount of waste they generate in their daily lives. The MMSB would like to encourage all Newfoundlanders and Labradorians to help protect our environment through simple waste reduction actions during this Waste Reduction Week and all through the year!

9:30-10:30 MMSB is helping the Department of National Defence reduce waste with a “Get to Half @ Work” presentation.

1:00-3:00 MMSB is going back to school teaching Macpherson Elementary how to cut down on the waste they generate.

3:00 MMSB is excited to launch the first Community Composting Demonstration Site in Holyrood

8:00-9:00 MMSB is sipping their morning coffee with the busy business community in downtown St. John’s, promoting waste-free coffee breaks and reusable coffee mugs!

9:00-3:00 MMSB is motivating the students of Holy Trinity High School to reduce waste at school.

11:00-2:00 MMSB is taking the “Get to Half” message to our future leaders at Gonzaga High School

5:00-7:30 MMSB is helping you pick up your groceries in a reusable shopping bag and teaching you to shop waste-smart at Lake Avenue Dominion.

Thursday, October 22

8:00-9:00 MMSB is getting to half over Morning Coffee as staff once again take the waste reduction message to the streets of downtown St. John’s.

8:00-4:00 MMSB is proud to partner with NEIA to offer “The Upside of Waste Management” Workshop.

9:00-2:15 MMSB is taking waste reduction presentations to Coley’s Point Primary.

10:00-12:30 MMSB is delivering “Get to Half @ School” presentations to the students of Virginia Park Elementary.

Friday, October 23

9:00-2:00 MMSB is challenging the students and staff of St. John’s largest high school, Holy Heart of Mary High School, to reduce their waste with the “Get to Half @ School” presentation.

9:00-2:30 MMSB staff are hitting the road to motivate the students of Fatima Academy (St. Brides) to reduce waste at school.

3:30-4:30 It’s never to soon to learn about the 3R’s so MMSB is heading to Little Pete’s Daycare (St. Brides).

5:00-7:30 Attention shoppers, MMSB is promoting waste reduction shopping at Longpond, CBS Dominion.
