NestleAt Nestlé Waters Canada we have a long-standing commitment to environmental responsibility and sustainability, and we are proud to return as a National Sponsor of the 2009 edition of Waste Reduction Week in Canada.

As a sponsor of Waste Reduction Week, Nestlé Waters Canada is committed to finding innovative ways to reduce our packaging.

In the last nine years, we have reduced the plastic content in our packaging by approximately 30%. Our current label is also 35% smaller than the previous one – that’s a savings of 20 million pounds of paper annually!

Our bottles are also made from PET plastic and are 100% recyclable. In fact, did you know that PET bottles are the third most recycled product in Canada, behind newspapers and aluminum?

Unfortunately, not everyone remembers to recycle. According to the provincial authorities responsible for collecting the data, about 60% of plastic beverage containers, including bottled water, were recycled across Canada last year. At Nestlé Waters Canada, it is our goal to collect 100% of the packaging we produce.

As a sponsor of Waste Reduction Week, we are asking all Canadians to remember to recycle your bottle the next time you enjoy one of our products.

If you want to learn more about the recycling process for bottled water, we’ve prepared a video you can watch by visiting us here: Life after the blue box.
