McDonald’s Restaurants of Canada is a proud sponsor of Waste Reduction Week. Our environmental philosophy is based on the three traditional waste reduction principles – reduce, reuse and recycle – and embraces the ‘total lifecycle’ approach to solid waste.

Over the years, McDonald’s Canada has worked with our suppliers, scientists and the environmental community to bring about significant reductions in the volume and weight of our packaging, without impacting our commitment to food quality and safety.

In addition, McDonald’s Canada employs many reusable materials in our operations and distribution system.   Approximately 90% of our packaging is made from renewable resources and many of those products contain significant amounts of recycled content.  We are committed to maximizing our use of recycled materials wherever possible in the construction, equipping and operation of our restaurants.

As we have done for many years, we will continue to look for new ways to improve our operations in an ongoing effort to make a difference in the area of environmental conservation and waste reduction.
