Out of sight, out of mind, that is how we think (or don't think) about garbage. The
Too Good To Waste PowerPoint Presentation with accompanying script and Homework Assignment are geared toward curriculums for grades 4 to 6.

The presentation provides teachers and students with facts about garbage, what it is and where it goes, along with practical pointers on how to Reduce, Reuse and Recycle their way to waste free living.

Activities for Schools
Teachers: There is a wealth of classroom activities on energy conservation to be found at the Learning for A Sustainable Future web site. In addition, visit Educational Resources for Larraine Roulston's "Pee Wee" novels on Vermicomposting in the Classroom.

Perhaps an event held during a previous Waste Reduction Week in Canada will suggest an activity for your school: Past School Activities. Other interesting ideas include Saskatchewan's Waste Reduction Week Theme Days.

School Challenge
To garner support for Waste Reduction Week in Canada officially, add your school to the 2007 Canadian School Challenge.

Download and sign the 2007 Canadian School Challenge then FAX the completed form to 416/960-8053. The list of participating schools will be posted here.
