Welcome to Waste Reduction Week

Schools

Waste Reduction Week in Canada works with all parts of society to make a difference in the amount of waste that is produced across Canada. With the help of promotional and resource materials, facts and statistics on current wasteful practices and activities, we hope to encourage and engage you in solutions for waste-free living.

School is the perfect place to practice waste reduction. Students who learn about waste in their classrooms or run their own composting or recycling programs can help teach their families about how to minimize waste.

The Waste Reduction Week in Canada School Kit and Poster are a great starting point for any educator who wants their school to reduce the amount of waste they are producing as well as providing students with valuable curriculum based lessons that can become habits of a lifetime.

If your School wishes to participate in Waste Reduction Week in Canada please check out the "Get Involved" page. Submitting your events will give us an opportunity to learn how everyone plans to celebrate Waste Reduction Week throughout the nation. Even if your School doesn't have special activities planned please get involved to give friendly support by promoting awareness.

Get involved to show Canada, and the world, that you are part of the waste reduction solution!

You can also let us know that your school has proclaimed Waste Reduction Week by filling in this form online
